We Love Austin!

So this post is WAY late, but I came across the pictures and couldn't leave it off the blog! About a month ago, we celebrated being in town all together for the first time in FOREVER by spending a Saturday morning at Zilker Park. It also reminded me how much I do love living in this city, even if it is miserably hot right now. Will and I had been to Zilker Park before to play and ride the train, but Jim had never been, so we decided to check it out as a family. We went early, because that's the only way you can spend time at parks these days in Texas, and even got tickets to ride the first train out. It was a great morning and you can tell by Will's red cheeks that he had a lot of fun!

Ready for the ride!
I guess this is the age where you never catch them looking at the camera, right?
Water break.
Before we know it, he'll be big enough to master this on his own!
And guess who we ran into? Totally unplanned, and such a nice surprise - Uncle Jay, Jonas and Berit!

This boy loves to jump.

Look at those red cheeks!
Bye, guys! Have fun on your train ride!

Morning Sickness, Moving and Molars, Oh My!

**Will added his personal touch to this entry by somehow underlining the beginning of the entry. That's what happens when I try to hurry and finish after he wakes up from his nap. :) And after doing some research, I have to enter some kind of code to get it to go away (which I can't figure out at the moment). Sorry about that!

These are just a few of the things I've been dealing with lately, which explains (again) why I've been so bad about blogging! I'll address each one separately. :)

1. Morning Sickness: Yes, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and Will will be gaining a little brother or sister in early February (the 7th is our due date)! We are so excited about adding to our family and think it will be really good for Will to have a sibling. I'm hoping that I'm turning the corner with this morning sickness - I had forgotten how awful it is! Pretty much any minute of my spare time these past few months has been spent on the couch or in bed and I have felt like doing nothing unless it can be classified as couch potato behavior! This has not been very helpful in the moving department, which brings me to my next topic. Also - I'll be sure to post our ultrasound pictures as soon as I can locate them. I think they may be in Jim's car at the moment - hopefully they haven't melted!

2. Moving: We moved about a week ago into our new house and are working on getting settled in. You would think a "new" home would be easier to move into, but we are having some issues which are still being sorted out - i.e. hot water problems, washer and dryer compatibility, cable, finding a baby gate that will fit at the top of the stairs (much harder than I ever imagined possible)... you get the picture. We were so lucky to have Jim's parents come at the beginning of the move to help us move our ENTIRE kitchen and then after that (as if that wasn't enough), they took Will for 5 nights back to Oklahoma with them for "Camp Cocklebur." We had been trying to figure out a time for him to go stay with them for his first camp session and it worked out perfectly. We missed him like crazy, but we were very busy so it made the time away from him much easier. We even made some time to go to some of our favorite "pre-Will" restaurants: Lamberts, Asti, & Home Slice. We had planned to try to go to a movie too, but that just didn't happen! We were so appreciative of everything Beejie and Grandbub did to help us with our big move! And in case you're wondering, we have the house under contract and close on the 26th of this month. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly from now until then. If so, I'd say things worked out perfectly! It's funny how that happens sometimes.
At your service. What can I do to help?

I think this might be my favorite Camp Cocklebur photo. These two are a serious pair of grasshopper hunters. And Longhorn fans, don't look too closely. Our son is wearing Boomer Sooner shades. And for the record, his parents were not consulted. :)

Camp Cocklebur was so much fun!

3. Molars: Well, Will turned 2 this past Saturday (pictures to follow) and the last two of his "2-year" molars are coming through as I type this. I can't believe our baby's teeth are almost all in - just in time to start the teething process again with the next baby in a few months (a bit of an exaggeration, but it will probably feel that way)! He bit through a styrofoam cup today and also tried to do the same with my shoulder, and we had definitely moved past the "biting" phase. Poor little guy - I feel so bad for him, but am happy that we are almost done with teething! Otherwise, he's a healthy, happy (except for those tantrums - those are exhausting), and very busy little boy. We went to see Dr. Reidy on Monday and he received a clean bill of health. He now weighs 29 pounds (63%) and is 35 1/2 inches tall (79%). And, one more shot in a few months and we will be done with shots until he's 4...hard to believe!

I really am determined to keep up with the blog, but it may be hard for the next few weeks or so while we continue to get settled. Stay tuned!
